Bharti Airtel, a prominent player in India's telecom sector, on Tuesday has unveiled a significant expansion initiative in Ernakulam and Idukki districts. The company's efforts are part of its ongoing rural enhancement project, aimed at fortifying network coverage across key regions.
The company intends to improve phone and data connectivity for its customers in 60 towns and 266 villages across the two districts by deploying more stations.

Airtel's shares saw a 3% surge to Rs 1158.90 on the BSE, while on the NSE, the stocks climbed 2.5% to Rs 1162. This uptrend indicates positive investor sentiment towards the telecommunications giant, reflecting confidence in its performance and future prospects in the market.
"Our goal is to ensure seamless access to high-speed connectivity for customers residing in rural and smaller towns of Ernakulam and Idukki. This expansion is a testament to our commitment to providing reliable mobile network services for various purposes including work, study, and entertainment"according to an official statement from Airtel
The network enhancement project targets specific tehsils such as Aluva, Kanayannur, Kochi, Kothamangalam, and others, directly impacting the lives of residents. With improved connectivity, customers can expect a significant boost in their mobile network experience, facilitating seamless communication and access to online resources.
Airtel's investment in Ernakulam and Idukki districts is part of a broader strategy to strengthen its presence across Kerala. The company aims to augment network coverage across 1600 villages and 355 towns in the state, ensuring that customers across all regions have access to reliable telecommunications services.
"Kerala has always been a significant market for us, and with this initiative, we aim to expand our network coverage comprehensively across the entire state. Our rural enhancement project underscores our dedication to bridging the digital divide and bringing the benefits of high-speed connectivity to every corner of Kerala" company said statement.
In addition to Ernakulam and Idukki, Airtel's rural enhancement project spans all 14 districts of Kerala. The initiative aims to bolster network capacity and extend services to rural and previously underserved areas. Fresh fiber capacity will play a crucial role in meeting the growing demand for high-speed data services in these regions.
Airtel's network expansion also extends to popular tourist destinations across Kerala, including hill stations such as Wayanad, Idukki, and Pathanamthitta. With improved network coverage, tourists can stay connected even in remote locations, enhancing their overall experience.
