Bomb Threat At Delhi Schools: DPS Dwarka, Another school Get Threat On May 1, Police Investigates

The national capital of India, Delhi has received a bomb threat on its Public School in Dwarka, as per ANI report. The Delhi police have reached the campus and investigating the matter. This would be the third bomb threat at a Delhi Public School since last year.

In the early morning of Wednesday, May 1, 2024, ANI reported that information was received regarding a bomb in Delhi Public School, Dwarka. The report added that Delhi Police, Bomb Disposal Squad and fire tenders have arrived on the spot.

Delhi Police said, "The search is underway."

The DPS in Dwarka has an area of 9.64 Acres, with 39,000 square meters. It has a built-up area of 2,096 square meters with an area for a playground stretched at 25,000 square meters.

The fee structure for the academic session of 2024-25 for pre-school to 12th standard is totalled p to Rs 1,76,340 at Dwarka's DPS.

Notably, on Wednesday, DPS Dwarka was not alone in receiving the threat, another school in East Delhi, Mother Mary's School has received similar threat information.

The bomb threat at Mother Mary's School was sent via email, prompting local law enforcement to evacuate students and faculties of the school to conduct searches on the premises, as per Republic World report. This also comes within 24 hours of a bomb threat received at Delhi's Chacha Nehru Hospital In Shahdara. Also, earlier this week, a nationwide security alert reportedly had taken over 24 airports and terminals across the capital over bomb threats.

Whether it was just another hoax or a real threat at DPS Dwarka is yet to be revealed. However, what is shocking is that this would be the third bomb threat call in a Delhi Public School since last year, and a second this year alone.

Earlier, in February 2024, Delhi Police School in R K Puram had received a bomb threat call. In May last year, DPS in Mathura Road received a bomb threat via email address, which was later determined as a hoax after Delhi Police conducted a thorough search.
