Delhi CM Rekha Gupta announces significant reforms aimed at improving the ease of doing business in the capital, including simplified licensing and a single-window clearance system. These measures are designed to support the industrial sector and drive economic growth.
The Delhi government is actively working to improve the business environment in the capital, according to Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. She highlighted that in just 10 months, significant reforms have been introduced to aid the industrial sector. These include simplifying licensing processes and establishing a single-window clearance system for quicker and more transparent approvals.

During the centenary celebrations of the Friends Colony Industrial Area, Gupta emphasised the importance of the industrial sector in India's development. She stated that running an industry is not just about setting up a business but also about boosting the nation's economy and providing jobs to numerous families. The event was attended by Union Minister of State Harsh Malhotra, Delhi Cabinet Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, and MLAs Anil Goyal and Sanjay Goyal.
Ease of Doing Business Initiatives
Gupta mentioned that continuous efforts are being made to enhance the ease of doing business in Delhi. Over the past ten months, several important decisions have been implemented. These include simplifying licensing procedures and ensuring industries do not face unnecessary obstacles from government departments. The single-window system has streamlined all approvals, making processes more efficient and transparent.
The Chief Minister announced the establishment of Delhi's first Traders Welfare Board. This board allows traders and industrial stakeholders to directly communicate their issues and suggestions to the government. This initiative aims to create a more responsive and supportive environment for businesses in Delhi.
Support for Small Enterprises
Gupta noted that the approval period for green category industries has been significantly reduced from 120 days to just 20 days. Additionally, micro and small enterprises can now access collateral-free loans of up to Rs 10 crore. These measures are designed to support smaller businesses and encourage their growth within the capital.
The GST department has been directed to adopt faceless operations and speed up the refund process. As a result, GST refunds totalling Rs 915 crore have been issued to traders in Delhi over the past four months. This move aims to provide financial relief and support to businesses operating in the region.
These initiatives reflect Delhi's commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment. By implementing practical measures, the government aims to strengthen its economic landscape while supporting industrial growth and development.
