The digital asset market traded lower on Wednesday as most cryptocurrencies traded in the red today. The global crypto market cap fell 1.35% to $1.26 Trillion. Bitcoin price slumped 1.83% at $33,992.24 per token.
The total crypto market volume over the last 24 hours rose 2.13% to $76.74 Billion. The total volume in DeFi is currently $5.97 Billion, 7.78% of the total crypto market 24-hour volume. The volume of all stablecoins is now $68.53 Billion, which is 89.30% of the total crypto market 24-hour volume.

Today, Bitcoin price slumped 1.83% at $33,992.24 per token. At this price, Bitcoin has a market cap of $663,628,611,356. The price of the world's second-largest cryptocurrency Ethereum traded 2.31% lower today at $1,789.98 per token, according to CoinMarketCap data.

Notably, the price of Bitcoin surged 10% to 1-1/2 year highs on Monday as speculation about the possibility of a Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) boosted investors' confidence about the digital asset industry and prompted short-sellers to leave positions.

On Tuesday, at one point the world's largest cryptocurrency Bitcoin skyrocketed over 11% to cross the $35,000-mark, for the first time since May 2022.

Anticipation of a bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) has grown after reports highlighted that the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) won't appeal a ruling it was wrong to dismiss an application from Grayscale Investments.
