The cryptocurrency prices today on December 20 showed mixed movement, with Bitcoin price today trading close to the $88,300 mark, while Ethereum price today gained more than 2%, moving near $3,000. The broader crypto market today is still volatile as major digital assets, including BNB, XRP, Solana, Dogecoin, Cardano, USDT and USDC are trading in the red zone.

The Bitcoin (BTC) price today stood at $88,274.02, with a massive market cap of $1.76 trillion. The world's largest cryptocurrency gained 1.37%, while the 24-hour bitcoin trading volume remained solid at $20.99 billion.

"Bitcoin is trading around $87,000 as markets digest the Bank of Japan's 25 bps rate hike, which had largely been priced in through recent selling pressure linked to the yen carry trade unwind.
