The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has launched an online booking system for approximately 10,000 "instantly available" flats spread across various categories within the city. These freehold apartments are ready for occupancy, and according to reports, they will be distributed on a first-come, first-served (FCFS) basis.
On November 24, DDA had already announced the Diwali Special Housing Scheme 2023, which will exclusively provide freshly built apartments on an FCFS basis. An e-auction was also used to sell some luxury homes. In an effort to give the general public access to inexpensive housing, the authority is now selling 7,931 apartments.

Phase III of the Diwali Special Housing Scheme includes about 8,000 newly built apartments in Narela that are intended for the economically weaker section (EWS) and low-income group (LIG) categories. This comprises 6,511 apartments in Pocket II Narela and 1,420 EWS apartments in Sector G7.
Furthermore, registration for 445 middle-income group (MIG) apartments under the previous scheme (FCFS Phase IV) has begun for those located in Sectors A1-A4, Narela. These apartments will be available at a reduced price.
Under FCFS Phase IV, DDA has approved a proposal to offer the carried-forward MIG flats at Sector A1-A4, Narela, to the general public at a 15% discount and to all government employees, including those employed by the Centre and state, autonomous bodies, local bodies, PSUs, and DDA's retired employees, at a 25% discount.
The price of an apartment will be between Rs 85 and Rs 87 lakh after a 15% discount and between Rs 75 and Rs 77 lakh after a 25% discount. There are eight high-income group (HIG) flats in Jasola that range in price from Rs 2 to 2.1 crore. There are 810 low-income group (LIG) flats for sale in Rohini; 34 of them are located in Sector 34 and 28 in Sector 35. They are priced around Rs 14 lakh apiece.
Furthermore, DDA is offering 107 LIG flats in pockets A1 and C2 in Siraspur at a cost of Rs 17 lakh and 89 LIG flats in pockets A1 and C2 in Loknayak Puram for Rs 26-27 lakh each.
This initiative by the DDA is expected to provide a significant boost to the affordable housing segment in Delhi and cater to the housing needs of various income groups. The online booking system will streamline the process of acquiring a flat, making it more accessible and convenient for the general public.
