As Delhi comes alive with Holi celebrations today, the traffic and Delhi metro services will have some major changes to manage the festive rush. Delhi Traffic Police has implemented road closures and route diversions, particularly near Dwarka, due to ongoing construction work, while Delhi metro services remain suspended today. Commuters are advised to plan their travel accordingly and use alternate routes suggested by authorities to avoid congestion. Here are the traffic changes that will help ensure a smooth and hassle-free Holi today.
Key Road Closures & Impacted Routes on Holi
The latest traffic update highlights that MP Road Number 205 will remain inaccessible from the T-point at Road No. 205 and Sahabad Village Road crossing to the Sector-22 Road crossing due to the ongoing construction work. This disruption will particularly impact commuters traveling between Sector 21 Metro Station and Dwarka Court and the travelers commuting from Sector 21 to Sectors 1, 7, and 8 in Dwarka.
As per a report circulating online, traffic barricades have been placed along Road No. 205 to regulate movement, and congestion is expected to rise along Sector 22 Road and Sector 9 Road due to diverted traffic.

Delhi Metro Services Disruptions on Holi
Apart from the road closure, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has also announced temporary suspensions of metro operations on March 14, 2025. Services on all metro corridors, including the Airport Express Line, will remain halted until 2:30 PM, after which normal operations will resume. Commuters traveling in Delhi metro should plan their travel accordingly.
Recommended Alternative Routes
To lessen the impact of the road closure, Delhi Traffic Police advises the following: Alternate routes to avoid any delays
Vehicles heading from Dwarka Court towards Kapashera via Sector 21 Metro Station should take a right on Road No. 205.
Proceed left onto Sector 9 Road. Finally, turn left at Janki Chowk on Sector 22, leading back to Sector 21 Metro Station.
Adhere to Travel Advisory for Seamless Holi Celebration
With both road restrictions and metro suspensions in effect, travelers are advised to plan their journeys in advance, stay updated on real-time traffic alerts, opt for alternative routes to avoid congestion, and allow extra travel time for a hassle-free commute. Following these guidelines will help Delhi residents and visitors navigate the city smoothly while celebrating Holi safely and responsibly.
