Nifty 50 jumped around 0.4% during Diwali muhurat trading in 2024. Nifty Midcap surged around 0.7%, whereas Nifty Smallcap jumped around 1% during the special session. Nifty 50 surged to 24,304 points in 2024 during the Diwali Muhurat trading session.
In 2023, Nifty 50 jumped around 0.5% to 19,525.55 points with Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap outperforming the benchmark indices during the Diwali Muhurat trading session.
The Diwali Muhurat trading session of 2022 marked a significant jump of 0.8% in Nifty. The benchmark index closed at 17,730 points during the session.
In 2021, Nifty 50 rose by 0.49% to 17,916 points, with midcap and smallcap stocks again holding the ground firm during the auspicious trading session window. The Diwali Muhurat trading session will be conducted in afternoon on Tuesday, October 21. Unlike past years, this time, Diwali Muhurat trading sessing will start at 1:45 pm and will conclude at 2:45 pm on October 21. t
The pre-open will start at 1:30 pm and will conclude at 1:45 pm. The pre-opening session will be followed by main Diwali muhurat trading session from 1:45 pm to 2:45 pm. As the trading will be open for a very short duration, the stock market may see a heightened volatility during the session.
Other than trading,exchanges have also scheduled ancillary phases like block deals and call auctions before the session. Trade modifications can be made till 3:15 pm on Tuesday.
