Diwali Stock Market Holiday: Is Stock Market Open Today?
Yes, NSE and BSE will open for trading like any other day on October 20. Monday. According to NSE Holiday calendar, NSE trading will remain open on Monday. Whereas, the trading will remain shut on Wednesday, October 22 on the occasion of Balipratipada. Similarly, BSE Sensex will also remain open today, ie Monday.
Diwali Muhurat Trading Date
While BSE and NSE will remain open for trading on Monday, Diwali Muhurat trading will be carried out on Tuesday, October 21, as per NSE and BSE's official website.
Diwali Stock Market Holiday
BSE and NSE will remain closed a day after Diwali Muhurat trading on the occasion of Balipratipada, ie on October 22. Diwali is celebrated with huge joy and fervour across India. The festival also marks the Diwali Muhurat trading on which BSE and NSE opens for a shorter duration as a tradition. Diwali Muhurat trading is considered as auspicious and holds significance due to the beginning of a new Samvat.

Following the holidays in October, only two more remain: Prakash Gurpurb Sri Guru Nanak Dev on 5 November and Christmas on 25 December.
