Donald Trump has responded to Elon Musk's recent criticisms, stating that he doesn't mind the Tesla CEO turning against him but believes it should have happened earlier. Trump expressed this sentiment on Truth Social, saying, "I don't mind Elon turning against me, but he should have done so months ago." This remark comes amidst a public spat between the two prominent figures.
Trump defended his 'Big Beautiful Tax Bill', describing it as a monumental $1.6 trillion reduction in expenses and the largest tax cut ever proposed. He called it "one of the Greatest Bills ever presented to Congress." The former president highlighted its importance and warned of dire consequences if it fails to pass, including a potential 68% tax increase.

Trump's Warning on Government Contracts
The tension escalated when Musk suggested Trump's impeachment. In response, Trump threatened to terminate government contracts with Musk's companies, claiming it would save billions for the government. He remarked, "The easiest way to save money in our Budget, Billions and Billions of Dollars, is to terminate Elon's Governmental Subsidies and Contracts."
Trump positioned himself as a problem-solver amid these disputes. He stated that he did not create the current issues but is there to resolve them. "I didn't create this mess; I'm just here to FIX IT," he asserted, emphasising that his bill would guide the nation towards greatness.
Musk's Allegations Against Trump
Elon Musk further intensified the situation by alleging that Donald Trump is mentioned in files related to Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender. Musk shared this claim on his platform X (formerly Twitter) but did not provide any evidence to support it.
The relationship between Trump and Musk has deteriorated publicly after Musk criticized Trump's tax-cut and spending bill. This once-close association has now become strained due to their opposing views on fiscal policies.
In an earlier statement, Trump expressed surprise that President Biden had not already ended governmental subsidies and contracts with Musk's enterprises. He noted that doing so would be an effective way to reduce government spending significantly.
The ongoing conflict between these two influential figures continues to unfold as they exchange criticisms over social media platforms and public statements. Their disagreements highlight differing perspectives on economic strategies and governance.
This clash underscores the complexities of political alliances and how quickly they can shift based on policy disagreements or personal conflicts. As both parties remain vocal about their positions, the public watches closely for further developments in this high-profile dispute.
