For pensioners here is an important update from the Department of Pension & Pensioners' Welfare (DoPPW). Central government pensioners have been recently warned by DoPPW against suspicious or unknown calls, SMS, emails, and links or dubious websites. Via its Twitter handle the department has clearly stated that "Department of Pension & Pensioners' Welfare do not ask for any sensitive data from the Pensioners, so please do not share your sensitive information like OTPs or confirmation code with anyone."

As a warning to the pensioners, DoPPW has also warned them to beware of fraud calls from anyone and not to respond to any suspicious links sent to you on SMS, mails, or from any other media. The department has also said that "We are only helping pensioners to lodge the grievances to their respective Ministries/Departments." To lodge a grievance pensioners can call at 1800-11-1960 or they can also visit www.cybercrime.gov.in.
