Emirates SkyCargo India freight capacity rises with new Mumbai and Ahmedabad freighter services

Emirates SkyCargo said it is increasing cargo space in India by adding two weekly freighter flights. One service goes to Mumbai and one goes to Ahmedabad. The added flights start next month, the carrier said. Emirates SkyCargo also said it lifts about 3,000 tonnes of cargo each week on average.

The airline said it is widening its reach beyond airports through a large trucking network. It said the road links help reach offline locations across India. Emirates SkyCargo said it is working to strengthen trade lanes. It aims to connect firms in India with partners, suppliers, and buyers worldwide.

Emirates SkyCargo freighter services in India

Emirates SkyCargo currently runs three weekly freighters to India. It operates one freighter to Mumbai and two to Ahmedabad. It also uses bellyhold space on 167 passenger flights each week. These passenger services cover nine gateways across India, it said.

The new freighter service to Mumbai starts on March 4. Emirates SkyCargo said the routing connects Dubai, Singapore and India. The added Ahmedabad service is a direct, dedicated freighter. It also starts next month, the airline said.

Emirates SkyCargo cargo mix and weekly uplift in India

Emirates SkyCargo said both freighters should carry key shipments. These include pharmaceuticals and fresh fruits and vegetables. Other perishables are also expected to move on these services. The airline also expects demand for personal electronic devices on both routes.

"Our new freighter frequencies to India reflect both the strength of Indias trade corridors, and our long-term commitment to supporting them,\" said Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President, Emirates SkyCargo. \"India is a powerhouse of manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, perishables and eCommerce and the demand for reliable and stable capacity continues to grow,\" Abbas said.

Abbas said, \"these additional freighters bolster our existing operations, by offering more connectivity and capacity to ensure we continue to serve our customers in India and across the globe.\" The airline linked the move to growing trade volumes. It noted that the third anniversary of the UAE-India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement CEPA is nearing.

Emirates SkyCargo trucks and UAE-India trade lanes

Emirates SkyCargo said bilateral trade is rising as CEPA nears three years. It said Indias exports to the UAE are growing faster than overall exports. The airline said it supports the trade agreement by moving goods weekly. These include 600 tonnes of pharmaceuticals and 500 tonnes of perishables.

The airline also reported regular volumes of garments, textiles and clothing. It said personal electronics are rising, including mobile phones, laptops and tablets. In 2025, it said more than 1,000 trucks moved almost 5,500 tonnes across India. Loads included auto and aircraft spares, machinery, tools, spices and a satellite.

Emirates SkyCargo recently added Coimbatore and Goa as offline road stations. It said its cargo network in India now serves nine cities. The cities are Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Thiruvananthapuram. The airline said the added freighters and road links support growing demand.
