Prime Minister Narendra Modi has highlighted the government's dedication to equipping youth with skills that are both future-ready and globally applicable. In a message to the Skill Convocation Ceremony, he expressed confidence in India's young professionals making a significant impact on the global workforce. This aligns with India's ambition to become the world's third-largest economy.

India's reputation as a hub of skilled talent is growing due to its young workforce's expertise and scale. Modi reiterated that the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship is focused on empowering youth through relevant skill training. He emphasized that skilled youth are crucial for India's growth and are considered the nation's greatest asset.
Focus on Skill Development
Jayant Chaudhary, Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, spoke about India's extensive skill ecosystem. It includes 15,000 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) known for their credibility. He noted that these institutes play a vital role in shaping students' futures through a strong assessment system developed with state governments.
This year marks a first in Union Budget history, where ITI improvements have been prioritized. This initiative aligns with the government's transformative vision for India. Chaudhary stressed that ITIs should meet local industry needs, ensuring skill development remains relevant and effective.
Encouraging Institutional Upgradation
The minister urged companies, MPs, and MLAs to actively participate in upgrading these institutions. By doing so, they can ensure that skill development initiatives are impactful and tailored to industry requirements. This collaborative approach aims to enhance the quality of training provided by ITIs across the country.
With these efforts, India aims to strengthen its position as a global leader in skilled talent. The focus remains on empowering youth with skills that meet international standards while addressing local industry demands. This strategy is expected to contribute significantly to India's economic growth and global standing.
The government's commitment to skill development reflects its broader vision for India's future. By investing in youth empowerment and skill enhancement, India is poised to make substantial strides towards becoming a major economic powerhouse on the world stage.
