The week-long Diwali festivities kicked off with Dhanteras on Saturday, October 18. As we celebrate Choti Diwali today, people are eagerly waiting for the grand Diwali 2025 celebrations on Monday, October 20. In the meantime, users can enjoy Google's cheerful festive animation with just a simple click.

To celebrate the auspicious Hindu festival, which holds significance for crores of people, Google has come up with a creative animation. Now, users can see earthen lamps, flower decorations, and lamp stands on their devices while using the search engine.
Google Diwali Animation: How To View It?
People can view the animation with a simple step. Open your Google browser on your mobile phone, laptop or computer. Now search 'Diwali, 'Diwali 2025', 'Happy Diwali' or anything associated with the festival. Once the Google search is over, you will most probably see a Diwali animation on your screen.
Once, you click on the animation, you will see its enhanced version with Goddess lakshmi idol inside a temple and a range of sweets, fruits and other delicacies offered to her.
What Is Google Diwali Animation?
The animation symbolises the essence of Diwali, ie lights, positivity and the victory of good over evil. The graphic showcases a traditional Diwali scene, complete with a grand golden lamp stand adorned with a peacock-shaped figure and numerous lit diyas (earthen lamps). Clicking on this image reveals an illustration of Goddess Lakshmi, who is worshipped during the festival of Diwali. Additionally, a plate featuring sweets like laddoos and jalebis appears, all illuminated by small diyas.

Diwali is not just a single-day festival;, but a week-long celebration of different traditions and cultures. Diwali week begins with Dhanteras celebration, which marks the worship of Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Ganesh and Lord Dhanvantari.
The main day of Diwali involves Lakshmi Puja, which takes place between 7:08 pm and 8:18 pm. The Pradosh Kaal extends from 5:46 pm to 8:18 pm while Vrishabha Kaal lasts from 7:08 pm to 9:03 pm. These times are considered auspicious for performing rituals dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi.
Happy Choti Diwali
Choti Diwali, also knownas Naraka Chaturdashi, is celebrated a day after DHanteras. This year, it is being celebrated on Sunday, October 19. The day marks Lord Krishna's triumph over the demon Narakasura. It symbolises the eradication of ignorance and evil. On this day, people crush a bitter berry called kareet underfoot to represent the defeat of Narakasura.
The morning of Choti Diwali begins with Abhyang Snan, a sacred bath taken before sunrise. Devotees apply an ubtan made from rose water, Ganga water, and sesame oil before bathing. This ritual is believed to cleanse and purify the body and soul.
