HDFC Bank will conduct scheduled maintenance on 12th September 2025, causing a 90-minute disruption to UPI services and RuPay credit card payments. Customers should plan transactions and consider using alternative solutions like net banking and PayZapp during this period.
HDFC Bank has announced a scheduled system maintenance on 12th September 2025, which will affect UPI services for 90 minutes. This maintenance will occur from midnight to 1:30 AM. During this time, UPI transactions, RuPay credit card payments, and UPI services on HDFC Bank's mobile and third-party apps will be unavailable.

The bank has informed its customers about the temporary unavailability of UPI services linked to HDFC Bank accounts during the maintenance period. This step is part of efforts to enhance the banking experience for users. Customers are advised to plan their transactions accordingly.
Impact on Various Services
During this maintenance window, several services will be affected. These include UPI transactions on both current and savings accounts with HDFC Bank. Additionally, payments made using RuPay credit cards will not be processed. The bank's mobile banking app and third-party apps that support UPI services through HDFC Bank will also be impacted.
Merchants with UPI services linked to their HDFC Bank accounts will experience disruptions as well. To mitigate inconvenience, the bank recommends using the PayZapp wallet for transactions during this period.
Alternative Solutions
HDFC Bank encourages customers to use its net banking service as an alternative during the maintenance period. Registered users can perform over 200 types of transactions anytime and anywhere without visiting a branch. Every customer automatically receives a net banking account upon joining the bank.
The PayZapp app serves as another option for users. It functions as a digital wallet and virtual card, allowing payments for various online and offline services without needing a bank account or card.
PayZapp Features
PayZapp is accessible to both HDFC Bank and non-HDFC Bank customers. For non-KYC accounts, transaction limits are set at Rs 10,000 per month, while KYC-compliant customers have a limit of Rs 2 lakh per month. The app ensures security through PINs, biometrics, and password-protected transactions requiring user authentication.
The bank assures that PayZapp is highly secure, with all logins protected by PINs and biometrics. Transactions require passwords and user authentication to prevent unauthorized access.
This planned maintenance aims to improve overall service quality for HDFC Bank customers by ensuring systems remain efficient and reliable in the long term.
