Himachal Pradesh Urban Development Authority (HIMUDA) approved significant developmental projects during its 54th board meeting on Monday. Town and Country Planning Minister Rajesh Dharmani chaired the session, emphasising HIMUDA's continuous efforts to introduce new schemes across various sectors. He urged officials to work diligently for the effective implementation of these initiatives.

Key Development Projects Approved
The board sanctioned several critical projects, including a drinking water supply line and a 15 lakh litre capacity water tank in Mountain City Jathiya Devi. Additionally, the construction of six 3-BHK deluxe flats in Housing Board Colony, Bilaspur, six 2-BHK flats in Sanjauli, Shimla, and two twin towers in Basal of Solan district, comprising 24 3-BHK flats, was approved.
Dharmani directed HIMUDA officials to promptly address the issues and plans discussed to ensure timely completion of the projects. He highlighted the importance of adopting innovative ideas and encouraged involving geologists, environmentalists, and landscaping consultants to enhance project outcomes.
Standard Operating Procedure for Land Purchase
The board resolved to create a standard operating procedure (SOP) for purchasing new land by HIMUDA. Various other agendas presented during the meeting were also approved. The minister stressed the need for HIMUDA to resolve land-related issues pending in court to enable timely commencement and completion of projects.
The board reviewed ongoing and proposed projects across the state, including those in Saraswati Nagar, Dehra, Subathu, Nerchowk, a zoo in Bankhandi, and the Command and Control Centre to be established in Dharamshala. These reviews aimed at ensuring that all projects are on track and any obstacles are promptly addressed.
Dharmani emphasised the need for dedication among officials to expedite project implementation. He stated that innovative ideas should be adopted to improve project outcomes. "Engaging geologists, environmentalists, and landscaping consultants will significantly enhance our projects," he noted.
In conclusion, HIMUDA's 54th board meeting marked a significant step towards advancing urban development in Himachal Pradesh. The approval of key projects and the creation of an SOP for land purchase reflect the authority's commitment to efficient and timely project execution.
