Weather Today: Several Indian states are set to embrace rainfall on Sunday, as Mumbai and other Maharashtra cities will be impacted by cyclone Shakti. Meanwhile, Delhi, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and northern states may see rainfall due to an active western disturbance.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall in Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Punjab and Uttarakhand.

Weather Today: Cyclone Shakti To Impact Maharashtra, Gujarat
The IMD has issued a warning for cyclone Shakti for Maharashtra districts, including Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg. The IMD warning is for Maharashtra districts from October 3 to October 7.
Due to the cyclone impact, Maharashtra and even Gujarat districts will face heavy rainfall, high-speed wind and harsh weather. The cyclone is likely to impact both coastal and interior districts.
"SCS "Shakhti" over northwest Arabian Sea moved west-southwestwards with a speed of 15 kmph during last 6 hours and lay centered at 2330 hrs IST of 4th October over the same region near latitude 21.3°N and longitude 62.7°E, about 320 km east-southeast of Ras Al Hadd (Oman)," stated IMD on Saturday night.
IMD Weather Today Prediction For West Bengal
A well-marked low-pressure area is expected to cause heavy to very heavy rainfall in sub-Himalayan West Bengal until Monday morning. The IMD has issued a red warning for Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri, and Alipurduar. Extremely heavy rainfall may occur in one or two areas within these districts until Sunday; it will continue in Alipurduar until Monday morning.
Weather Today: Delhi, Bihar, UP To See More Rains Today
The IMD has forecasted thunderstorms with rain in Delhi starting from Sunday, extending through October 7. In Bihar, the southwest monsoon remains active, particularly in north Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh.
Delhi is likely to see more rainfall today and the coming two to three days because of active western disturbances. As per IMD update, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand Rajashtan, Himachal Pradesh will see rainfall on October 5 and 6.
Himachal Pradesh is bracing for a new wet spell starting today after the southwest monsoon withdrew by the end of September. An orange alert was issued on Saturday for October 6 by the Shimla meteorological station. It warns of hail, heavy to very heavy rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds of 40-50 kmph in isolated places across six districts: Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Sirmaur, and Lahaul and Spiti.
