IMD Weather Alert: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for several districts in Karnataka for severe cold weather in the coming two days. Meanwhile, coastal areas in Tamil Nadu may see mild rainfall this week.
Karnataka districts like Bidar, Kalaburgi, Vijayapura, Bagalkote, and Belagavi will witness a severe cold wave-like situation in the next two days. Meanwhile, Bengaluru weather is likely to remain cold with cloudy sky, but there may be marginal decline in minimum temperature. Additionally, there are chances of isolated heavy rainfall in Tamil Nadu districts on Tuesday and in next two days.

Cold Wave In Karnataka
There will be below than normal temperature in certain districts in Karnataka indicating an early arrival of winter season in the state. The weather forecasting agency has warned of cold-wave like conditions in multiple districts of the state.
"Cold wave to severe cold wave conditions are likely over Bidar, Kalaburgi, Vijayapura, Bagalkote and Belagavi districts for the next 2 days," stated Bengaluru meteorological centre in a report. Additionally, the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre has predicted a significant drop in temperatures in multiple Karnataka districts.

The agency has marked a minimum temperature to fall 4-6 degrees Celsius below normal, potentially leading to cold wave conditions in these regions.

The agency has urged people to stay cautious and prepare accordingly as minimum temperatures has fallen as low as 14 degrees Celsius in several districts, including Kalaburagi, Bidar, Raichur, and Koppal districts.
Officials at the Bidar agriculture science centre have indicated that temperatures might drop further next month by up to 10º Celsius. This prediction suggests that residents should prepare for even colder conditions in December, reported Deccan Herald.
IMD Issues Rainfall Alert In Tamil Nadu
IMD has issued a rainfall alert in coastal Tamil Nadu and other districts. The weather forecasting agency has predicted fairly widespread to widespread rainfall over Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Islands. According to a Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) report, there is a possibility of moderate rainfall at many places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal area on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places over Ghat areas of Tirunelveli. Heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places over Kanyakumari, Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli, Tenkasi, Virudhunagar, Theni, Madurai, Sivaganga and Ramanathapuram districts on Tuesday. For Wednesday, there are chances of heavy rainfall at isolated places over Cuddalore and Mayiladuthurai districts.
