Indian Railways Timetable 2026: In a major update for train travellers, Indian Railways has rolled out major upgrades and added multiple new trains under the new Timetable of Trains (TAG) 2026.
As per the latest timetable, there will be an addition of over 100 new trains, and existing 549 train services have been boosted to reduce travel times and improve overall passenger convenience.
Under TAG 2026, around 122 new trains were introduced, 86 trains were extended, and around 8 frequency increases were made, 10 trains were converted to superfast, and around 549 trains have been sped up across Indian Railways.

What is TAG 2026?
TAG 2026 refers Indian Railways' recent Timetable of Trains (TAG) 2026 plan, adding 122 new trains, and speeding up 549 existing services. The network-wide changes aim to cut journey times, improve punctuality and raise operational efficiency across zones.
New Trains Added
The 122 new trains introduced in 2025 cover a wide range of categories. Indian Railways has added 60 Mail/Express services, 28 Vande Bharat trains to support semi-high-speed links, 26 Amrit Bharat trains, two Rajdhani, two Jan Shatabdi, two Humsafar and two Namo Bharat Rapid Rail services across the network.
Some of these services fall under the TAG-Time on Demand (TAG-TOD) framework, designed to match capacity with demand patterns. Among the 60 new Mail/Express trains, eight are TAG-TOD services, while four of the 26 Amrit Bharat trains also operate under TAG-TOD, indicating flexible deployment on select routes.
The spread of new services under TAG 2026 trains was visible across multiple categories, including premium and express segments as well as new regional rapid rail options for busy corridors in different parts of the country.
