Indian Railways has embarked on an ambitious 100-day agenda aimed at revolutionising the rail travel experience for millions of passengers across India. Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Ministry of Railways has outlined a comprehensive plan to introduce several groundbreaking initiatives, promising unprecedented convenience and comfort for commuters.
One of the most significant highlights of this agenda is the introduction of a revolutionary 24-hour ticket refund scheme, which will replace the existing cumbersome three-day process. This move is set to streamline the refund process, providing passengers with faster reimbursements and greater flexibility in managing their travel plans.

In addition to the ticket refund scheme, Indian Railways is set to launch a cutting-edge super app catering to diverse passenger needs, including ticketing, train tracking, and other essential railway services. This all-in-one platform is poised to revolutionise the way passengers interact with the railway system, offering seamless navigation and an enhanced user experience.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Railways aims to roll out the PM Rail Yatri Bima Yojana insurance scheme within the first 100 days, providing passengers with comprehensive insurance coverage during their rail journeys. This initiative underscores the government's commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of railway travellers.
The agenda also includes plans to seek Cabinet approval for the development of three economic corridors spanning over 40,900 kilometres, with an estimated investment of Rs 11 lakh crore. These corridors are poised to bolster economic growth and connectivity across the country, heralding a new era of prosperity and development.
Moreover, Indian Railways is set to achieve a significant milestone with the completion of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail link project, paving the way for seamless connectivity between Jammu and Kashmir. This ambitious project includes the construction of the iconic Chenab Bridge, the highest railway bridge in the world, symbolising India's engineering prowess and commitment to infrastructural development.
Another groundbreaking project on the agenda is the commissioning of India's first vertical-lift railway bridge, the Pamban Railway Bridge, which will reconnect Rameshwaram to the rest of the country. This historic bridge, built in 1913, underwent extensive renovation to ensure the safety and reliability of rail services, underscoring the government's dedication to preserving India's rich cultural heritage.
Furthermore, Indian Railways is set to introduce sleeper versions of the acclaimed Vande Bharat trains, offering passengers a luxurious and comfortable travel experience. The first prototype of the Vande Bharat sleeper train is currently under construction, with completion expected within six months, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of Indian rail technology.
Additionally, the Ministry of Railways is committed to accelerating the Bullet Train project, with a focus on operationalizing a significant portion of the Ahmedabad-Mumbai Bullet Train section by April 2029. This ambitious endeavour aims to revolutionise high-speed rail travel in India, enhance connectivity, and drive economic growth.
Indian Railways' 100-day agenda represents a bold and transformative vision for the future of rail travel in India. With innovative initiatives aimed at enhancing passenger convenience, expanding connectivity, and driving economic development, the Ministry of Railways is poised to usher in a new era of progress and prosperity for the nation.
