IndiGo Airlines has issued an important travel advisory for passengers flying to and from Delhi Airport, warning of delays caused by air traffic congestion in the national capital. The airline on Tuesday informed the passengers that flight operations in Delhi are currently impacted, leading to longer wait times both on the ground and onboard.

According to IndiGo's official update on its X handler, "Due to air traffic congestion in Delhi, flight operations are currently impacted. We understand that extended wait times, both on the ground and onboard, may cause inconvenience, and we sincerely appreciate your patience."
Passengers Advised to Check Flight Status Online
IndiGo has asked travelers to stay updated by checking the latest flight status through its official website or mobile app. The airline said that the most accurate and up-to-date information about flight delays, cancellations, or gate changes will be available digitally.
Support for Affected Passengers
The airline reassured passengers that its crew and ground staff are actively assisting at airports to make the wait as smooth and comfortable as possible. IndiGo stated, "Our crew and on-ground teams are there to support you and ensure your wait is as comfortable as possible."
Reason Behind Flight Delays
The Delhi air traffic congestion is reportedly due to high flight frequency, weather-related restrictions, and runway management delays. With Delhi being one of India's busiest aviation hubs, even minor disruptions can have a ripple effect on flight schedules across the country.
Airlines Affected
While IndiGo has been among the first to issue a public advisory, several other carriers operating from Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), including Air India, Vistara, and SpiceJet, are also experiencing flight delays and schedule disruptions due to heavy air traffic.
IndiGo's Appeal to Passengers
In its message, IndiGo appreciated passenger cooperation and patience, saying, "We value your time and are doing everything we can to help you get on your way soon. Thank you for your continued understanding."
Tips for Travelers

Arrive at least 2-3 hours before departure for domestic flights and 3-4 hours for international flights.
