Both the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) will remain closed for trading on Thursday, October 2nd.The stock market closure is on account of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra, which fall on the same day this year.

Since trading is closed on Thursday, there will be no activity across equity, equity derivatives, currency derivatives, and interest rate derivatives segments on October 2. Muhurat Trading 2025 is a special, auspicious one-hour stock market trading session which is held to celebrate the beginning of the new financial year, Vikram Samvat 2082, according to the Hindu calendar. This year Muhurat trading is scheduled for October 21 from 1:45 PM to 2:45 PM, with a block deal session before it from 1:15 PM to 1:30 PM and additional pre-open and closing sessions extending until 3:15 PM.
