ITeS Jobs in India Projected to Increase by 20% by 2025 Amid Technological Advancements

The Information Technology and Enabled Services (ITeS) sector in India is set for substantial growth by 2025, with job opportunities anticipated to rise by 20%, as per a recent report. The Instahyre Tech Salary Index 2025 highlights changing salary trends across various experience levels and fields. Instahyre, an AI-driven hiring platform, analysed over 42,000 anonymised candidate profiles and more than 11,000 recruiter-candidate interactions to gather insights.

ITeS Job Growth in India for 2025

Roles in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and cloud computing are expected to see a significant increase of 75% due to the growing adoption of new technologies. The gig economy and remote work models are also influencing the sector's expansion, contributing to an estimated 10% growth. However, as technology evolves, nearly 40% of the workforce will need upskilling to remain competitive in the changing job market.

Salary Trends and Skill Demands

The report noted changes in salaries across different experience levels and domains. DevOps professionals with AWS expertise are experiencing salary increases of nearly 10% across all experience levels. In contrast, frontend developers with 0-5 years of experience have seen a salary decrease of about 1.5 lakhs per annum (LPA). On the other hand, experienced frontend professionals with over six years have observed a rise of nearly 4 LPA.

Similar patterns are evident in mobile development and data science, where early-career salaries face downward pressure. Python continues to be the highest-paying backend skill, with salaries almost doubling every five years of experience. Java has also shown notable growth, with salaries increasing fivefold from entry-level positions to those with over ten years of experience.

Geographical Shifts in Talent

Bangalore remains the leading talent hub, hosting 35% of India's tech workforce. It is followed by Delhi-NCR and Hyderabad at 20% each, Pune at 15%, and Chennai at 10%. However, remote work options are allowing professionals to move to non-metro areas, broadening the talent pool for companies, especially for AI-focused roles.

Tier-2 cities like Chandigarh, Jaipur, and Indore are emerging as appealing tech hubs, attracting talent beyond traditional metropolitan regions. Cybersecurity and space technology startups are expected to drive hiring in digital economies, highlighting the growing demand for specialised skills.

Future Hiring Strategies

Skill-based hiring is likely to take precedence over diversity hiring goals as companies focus on deep tech and AI expertise. As organisations adjust to the evolving demand for skills and adopt new hiring strategies, professionals who invest in upskilling and specialisation will stay ahead in career growth.
