Ladki Bahin Yojana Instalment Update: Lakhs of women beneficiaries awaiting their Ladki Bahin Yojana Instalment received Rs 1,500 in June without any delay, announced Maharashtra Minister Aditi S Tatkare recently. She also warned that the Maharashtra government is actively carrying out a verification process to take action against fake beneficiaries of the women's welfare development scheme.
Nearly 26 lakh women beneficiaries of the Ladki Bahin Yojana Scheme have been removed from the list because they failed to match the eligibility criteria of the government scheme, as notified by Tatkare in a social media post on X.

Ladki Bahin Yojana June Instalment Update
More than 2.6 crore women in Maharashtra received Ladki Bahin Yojana June instalment of Rs 1,500, announced Aditi Tatkare. The Information and Technology Department (ITD). Nearly 26.3 lakh women in Maharashtra were availing the benefit of the Ladki Bahin Yojana Scheme, despite being eligible.
It was found that some beneficiaries were availing benefits of multiple schemes, and some families had more than two beneficiaries, whereas, in some areas, men had applied for the scheme, as per Tatkare's social media post shared on July 24.
Government To Reverify Targeted Beneficiaries' Eligibility
To ensure that any legitimate women beneficiary is not facing discontinuation of Ladki Bahin Yojana instalment because of the action, the government will carry out another round of verification. The 26.3 lakh women Ladki Bahin Yojana accounts, which were temporarily suspended, will now be verified by the respective District Collectors, and the benefits for those found eligible will be resumed by the government. Additionally, stringent action will be taken against fraudsters who were availing the Ladki Bahin Yojana benefit without meeting the eligibility criteria.
Ladki Bahin Yojana July Instalment
Ladki Bahin Yojana's July instalment is still pending for many women beneficiaries. The July instalment will be released for eligible beneficiaries by next week, according to media reports. Additionally, genuine beneficiaries who did not receive their June instalment will reportedly get double the amount, after government verification. Ladki Bahin Yojana Scheme: What It Is It?
Ladki Bahin Yojana is one of the flagship schemes of the Maharashtra government to provide monthly assistance to eligible women beneficiaries. The Devendra Fadnavis-led Maharashtra Government is facing scrutiny because of delay in Ladki Bahin Yojana instalment release. However, as per the latest update by Maharashtra minister, the scheme's June month instalment has been released and works are underway to disburse July month instalment.
The Maharashtra government introduced a welfare initiative known as the Ladki Bahin Yojana, alternatively referred to as the Ladki Bahini Yojana or Mazi Ladki Bahin Yojana. This program is designed to provide financial assistance to women between the ages of 21 and 65. Through this scheme, qualified women will receive a sum of Rs 1,500 each month, which will be deposited directly into their bank accounts. This move aims to empower women within this age bracket by offering them financial support.
Ladki Bahin Yojana Eligibility
To be eligible for the scheme, it is important for the beneficiaries be a permanent resident of Maharashtra. Age limit for the scheme is between 21 years and 65 years. Applicant's family income mist not exceed Rs 2.5 lakh. Additionally, applicant's family members should not be employed as regular, permanent, or contractual staff in any government department, undertaking, board, or local body. Their family should not own any four-wheeled vehicle, except a tractor. And the applying woman must have a bank account in her name. She should not have received more than Rs 1,500 from any other financial scheme by the government.
