Local Handicrafts and Agricultural Products Featured at Global Investors Summit in Bhopal

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced plans to showcase district-level products, especially handicrafts and agricultural goods, at the Global Investors Summit (GIS). The summit, titled "Invest Madhya Pradesh – Global Investors Summit," is set for February 24 and 25 in Bhopal. The initiative aims to attract investors by highlighting local craftsmanship and produce.

Showcasing Local Products at GIS Bhopal

Efforts are underway to empower artisans and farmers through the One District One Product (ODOP) Expo Zone at GIS. The state government is actively promoting local manufacturing under the ODOP scheme. Special stalls will feature 38 ODOP products, divided into live and process counters, showcasing the state's diverse offerings.

Showcasing Local Craftsmanship

Artisans will demonstrate their skills in creating traditional items like Bagh print, Zari Zardozi, Batik print, carpets, Chanderi sarees, bamboo crafts, sandstone items, and fabric jackets at live counters. Visitors can engage with artisans to learn about these crafts firsthand. Officials highlight that this interaction offers a unique learning experience.

The Museum of Mankind at Manav Sangrahalaya will host live counters for pottery and metal crafts. These displays are expected to be a significant draw for attendees. Additionally, 32 ODOP products related to food, spices, and fruits will be exhibited with their production processes explained. Visitors can explore these products and make purchases.

Opportunities for Artisans

The expo will also feature 16 live counters dedicated to showcasing Madhya Pradesh's traditional arts and crafts. Guests will have the chance to participate in creating these items. This initiative is designed to open new business avenues for artisans by facilitating networking opportunities through visitor data collection at each counter.

Data management responsibilities have been assigned to students from prestigious colleges in Bhopal. This provides them with valuable practical experience while supporting the expo's operations. The ODOP expo aims to elevate Madhya Pradesh's handicrafts and products on a global scale.

The event is expected to attract investors to local artisans, boosting economic growth and enhancing global outreach for the state's unique offerings. By promoting these traditional crafts and agricultural products, the summit seeks to foster self-reliance among artisans and farmers in Madhya Pradesh.
