The oil marketing companies in India have once again slashed the commercial LPG prices in India this month, bringing some relief to the hospitality and food sectors. The new rates are effective from today, i.e., June 1; the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has been reduced by Rs. 24. This is the third price cut in a row this year. On May 1, commercial LPG prices were reduced by Rs. 14.50, and earlier, on April 1, by Rs. 41. These consecutive reductions in the commercial gas cylinder price offer much-needed cost relief to businesses dependent on LPG gas cylinders.
This latest LPG rate update comes as part of the regular monthly revision by oil companies in India, including Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL), and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL). These companies review fuel prices in India every month based on global crude oil trends and currency exchange rates.
Commercial LPG Cylinder: New Price in Key Cities (as of June 1)
No Change in Domestic LPG Cylinder Prices
Even though the commercial LPG prices have been reduced, there has been no change in domestic LPG cylinders used for household cooking. The government had earlier raised the price of domestic LPG cylinders by Rs. 50 in March 2025, citing the surge in international crude prices following new trade tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump.
Both domestic and commercial LPG prices in India in 2025 continue to vary by state due to differences in local taxes and transport costs. Currently the domestic LPG prices cost Rs. 852 per cylinder in New Delhi, the cost of an LPG cylinder in Mumbai is Rs. 852.50, and the price of a 14.5 kg LPG cylinder in Chennai is 868.50.
LPG Consumption in India
About 90% of LPG consumption in India is for household cooking, while the remaining 10% is used across commercial, industrial, and automotive sectors. Although the LPG price cut may appear modest, it eases the burden on small businesses like restaurants, caterers, and roadside eateries that rely on commercial LPG cylinders for daily operations.

Crude Oil Prices Currently
As of the latest data from Trade Economics, global crude oil prices have witnessed a slight dip. WTI Crude is trading at USD 60.79, down by USD 0.15 or 0.25%, while Brent Crude has declined by USD 0.57, settling at USD 62.78 per barrel, marking a 0.9% decrease. The minor pullback in prices is mainly because of the ongoing market volatility due to geopolitical developments.
