Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices have been increased. In India, almost every family has an LPG connection, and it is used primarily for cooking purposes. In general, a spike in LPG prices will impact the general populace. A non-subsidized 14.2 kg gas cylinder in Delhi and Mumbai will now cost you Rs 719, according to the Indian Oil Corporation, whereas it will be Rs 745 in Kolkata and Rs 735 in Chennai. Rs 694 in Delhi and Mumbai, Rs 720.50 in Kolkata and Rs 710 in Chennai all priced the same before the spike. The rates are valid from 4 February 2021 onwards. The existing prices of Indane non-subsidized LPG for the four metros as of 15 December are as follows:

Oil producers raised LPG prices twice in December 2020, and the LPG price remained stable in January 2021. Thus, it was projected that oil producers would raise LPG prices in February 2021. The cost of LPG gas cylinders is calculated and updated on a monthly basis by state-run oil corporations. Prices will increase or go down, based on international fuel prices and US dollar-rupee exchange rates. The Government of India is reportedly offering a subsidy to customers for the purchase of domestic LPG cylinders. After purchasing the cylinder, the subsidy amount is automatically credited to the bank account of the user.
