Auto Major Maruti Suzuki announced on Tuesday an enhancement in its production capabilities at its Manesar facility. It has augmented the plant's capacity by one lakh units per annum, underscoring its commitment to meeting growing consumer demand.
The latest development entails the addition of a new vehicle assembly line to the existing Plant-A within the Manesar complex, situated in Haryana. Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) emphasized that this new assembly line is equipped to manufacture an impressive one lakh units annually, effectively bolstering the total manufacturing capability at the Manesar facility to 9 lakh vehicles per annum.

Hisashi Takeuchi, the Managing Director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki India, articulated the company's ambitious vision to nearly double its production capacity to 4 million vehicles per year over the next 7-8 years. He affirmed that this capacity augmentation of 1 lakh vehicles per year represents a significant step towards realising this strategic objective. Takeuchi highlighted that this expansion will enable Maruti Suzuki to cater to its customers more efficiently while also elevating the overall manufacturing capability to a staggering 23.5 lakh units per annum.
The Manesar facility, inaugurated by the company in February 2007 with the commencement of Plant A, has been pivotal in Maruti Suzuki's manufacturing prowess. In response to escalating customer demand, Maruti Suzuki swiftly expanded its manufacturing footprint by adding Plant-B in 2011 and Plant-C in 2013. This strategic expansion reflects Maruti Suzuki's agility and commitment to meeting consumer preferences and market dynamics effectively.
Among the array of models produced at the Manesar plant, notable names include the popular Brezza, Ertiga, XL6, Wagon R, Dzire, S-Presso, Ciaz, and Celerio. These models have garnered widespread acclaim and played a pivotal role in reinforcing Maruti Suzuki's position as a frontrunner in the Indian automotive sector.
The addition of the new assembly line underscores Maruti Suzuki's unwavering dedication to innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction. As the automotive landscape evolves, Maruti Suzuki remains steadfast in its pursuit of excellence, leveraging its expertise and infrastructure to cater to the evolving needs of Indian consumers.
With this latest expansion at the Manesar facility, Maruti Suzuki is poised to embark on a new phase of growth and leadership in the Indian automotive industry. The company's relentless pursuit of excellence and commitment to delivering high-quality vehicles are expected to further solidify its position as a market leader in the years to come.
