The Madhya Pradesh government's regional industry conclave on Wednesday saw investment proposals amounting to Rs 8,000 crore across various sectors. Adani Group alone committed Rs 3,500 crore. Reliance also plans to invest in renewable gas and compressed biogas projects within the state.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav highlighted the state's vision for investment and sustainable development. He stated, "Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is the fifth largest economy in the world. At the same time, we are moving towards becoming the third largest economy in the world."
Investment Proposals and Employment Generation
The event attracted investments from large industries totalling Rs 8,000 crore across various sectors. This is expected to generate employment for 35,000 people. Additionally, over 2,500 MSMEs expressed their intent to invest Rs 5,000 crore, according to an official.
Adani Group announced plans to set up a 2 million tonne capacity cement grinding unit in Guna and a propellant production facility at Shivpuri with a total investment of Rs 3,500 crore. Karan Adani, MD of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ), made this announcement at the conclave.
New Industrial Parks and Infrastructure Development
The Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) will open four new industrial parks under its Gwalior Regional Office. These parks will be located at Mohna in Gwalior district (210 hectares), Gurawal in Shivpuri district (30.64 hectares), Chainpura in Guna district (334 hectares), and Mavai in Morena district (210 hectares).
Union Minister for Communications and Development of the North Eastern Region Jyotiraditya Scindia remarked, "Today marks a historic moment for Gwalior, a city known for its innovation and growth. By hosting the Regional Conclave in Gwalior, our Chief Minister has significantly empowered and renewed the resolve of its citizens."
Reliance Bio Energy's Vivek Taneja mentioned that Reliance plans to invest in renewable gas and compressed biogas projects. These projects are expected to initially create 2,000 jobs in rural areas.
Future Plans and Initiatives
The state's Department of Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion aims to advance through these initiatives as a pathway to the Global Investors Summit 2025. This summit is scheduled for 7-8 February 2025 in the state capital.
Madhya Pradesh Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, India has become the fifth-largest economy. He added that with collective efforts, India is poised to become the third-largest economy within five years and achieve Viksit Bharat by 2047.
Scindia also called for establishing a world-class hospital in Gwalior on vacant land and developing it as a Counter-Magnet City of the National Capital Region (NCR), as envisioned by his late father, former Union Minister Madhavrao Scindia.
Chief Minister Yadav assured that the government would strive to establish a world-class hospital with private sector investment in Gwalior. Additionally, a jacket production unit operated by women will be set up as part of a women empowerment initiative.
These developments indicate significant progress for Madhya Pradesh's industrial sector. The state's proactive approach aims to attract more investments and foster economic growth.
