Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani's youngest son, Anant Ambani, has been named a full-time director of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) on Friday. Subject to shareholder approval, the board accepted Anant Ambani's nomination for a five-year term starting May 1, 2025, based on the Human Resources, Nomination and Remuneration Committee's proposal, the company stated in a stock exchange filing.

Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Mukesh and Nita Ambani, serves as a non-executive director on the board of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL). RIL shareholders approved his appointment in October 2023, with Anant receiving 98.06% of the votes. His older siblings, Isha and Akash Ambani, received 98.21% and 92.75% of the votes, respectively. This appointment marks a significant step in the Ambani family's succession planning for their conglomerate.

Along with his role at Reliance Industries (RIL), Anant Ambani also holds important positions at several subsidiaries within the Reliance Group. He became a director at Jio Platforms Limited in March 2020 and joined Reliance Retail Ventures Limited's board in May 2022. In June 2021, he also took on roles at Reliance New Energy Limited and Reliance New Solar Energy Limited.

Anant Ambani graduated from Brown University in the United States. He earned a degree in economics. His studies at Brown focused on global business and economics. Anant Ambani is the first among the Ambani siblings to take on the role of executive director at Reliance Industries Ltd.
