Mumbai Airport is set to experience a slight 2% increase in weekly flight movements this winter, reaching 3,372 flights despite growing travel demand. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) will offer an extensive network of travel options with 2,361 domestic and 1,011 international flights weekly for the winter schedule of 2024, according to the private airport operator.

Starting from October 27, 2024, and continuing until March 29, 2025, the winter schedule for Indian airlines has been announced by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). This schedule includes 25,007 weekly flights to and from 124 airports, marking a 5.37% increase compared to the previous winter schedule in 2023.
Increased International Connectivity
The airport anticipates a 4% rise in travel compared to the summer schedule of 2024 and a 2% increase over the winter schedule of 2023. This robust plan aims to provide seamless travel experiences to over 115 destinations this winter. The schedule will enhance services to international locations such as Toronto, Bangkok, London, and Amman.
Air Canada will resume its Toronto service on October 28, 2024, with four weekly flights. Thai low-cost carrier Nok Air has started its Bangkok DMK service from October 27, offering eight weekly flights. Virgin Atlantic will introduce a second daily flight to London Heathrow starting October 28.
New Routes and Airlines
Royal Jordanian is set to launch a new route to Amman with four weekly flights during February and March of 2025. Additionally, Thai VietJet plans to start daily flights to Bangkok BKK around December. These new routes and airlines will provide Mumbai travellers with access to exciting international vacation spots.
The increased connectivity reflects the rising demand for both domestic and international travel. The airport's efforts aim to meet this demand by offering more options and ensuring a smooth travel experience for passengers heading to various destinations worldwide.
