In the 1 PM draw, the coveted first prize of Rs 1 crore was won by ticket number 36B 42105, bringing a major windfall to the holder. The draw forms part of the state-run Sambad lottery system, which is legally organised by Nagaland authorities.

The consolation prize of Rs 1,000 was awarded to tickets ending with the number 42105.

The second prize of Rs 9,000 each went to ten winning ticket numbers, while the third prize of Rs 450 and fourth prize of Rs 250 were awarded to several additional winners. A large pool of participants also secured the fifth prize of Rs 120.

Officials noted that the Dear Rise draw offers a total of six prize categories, making it one of the popular weekly lottery events in the state. Players who purchased tickets for the Monday series are advised to verify their numbers carefully against the official result sheet to confirm any winnings.

Tax Rules on Lottery Prizes: Check Before Claiming State Lottery Rewards

Meanwhile, authorities have reminded winners to be aware of the tax rules applicable to lottery income in India. Under Section 194B of the Income-tax Act, 1961, any lottery prize exceeding Rs 10,000 is subject to Tax Deducted at Source (TDS).

For Indian residents, a flat 30% tax is deducted from the prize amount before payout. In the case of non-resident winners, the same 30% base tax applies along with surcharge and a 4% education cess, increasing the total tax liability.

Participants are also advised to claim prizes only through official channels and within the stipulated time frame set by the organisers.
