Neolite ZKW Lightings has invested Rs 100 crore in its Pune facility, focusing on automotive lighting production. The investment aims to enhance innovation and create jobs in India.
Neolite ZKW Lightings has invested Rs 100 crore in its new Pune facility, with plans to invest another Rs 100 crore in future phases. This move underscores India's growing importance as a strategic market for the global automotive industry. The Pune plant, operational since December last year, is dedicated to manufacturing automotive lighting products and components, including moulding, surface treatment, and assembly.

Focus on Automotive Lighting Innovation
The facility aims to meet customer demands promptly while fostering innovation in automotive lighting. It also promises to generate employment opportunities in the region. Neolite ZKW has established an independent design centre equipped with modern tools and software for 3D modelling, optical design, prototyping, and validation support. This centre enhances the company's product development capabilities and reduces time-to-market.
Rajesh Jain, Chairman and Managing Director of Neolite ZKW Lightings Limited, stated, "Our new Pune plant reflects our commitment to invest in capacity, technology and talent to support the next phase of growth for our customers and for Neolite ZKW." He emphasised that the facility positions the company to respond swiftly to customer needs and drive innovation.
Strategic Location Benefits
The Pune plant's location near the Mumbai-Pune-Nashik-Aurangabad automotive cluster offers advantages like better inventory management and a personalised approach to customer needs. Neolite ZKW caters to OEMs such as JSW MG Motor, Stellantis Automobiles India, VE Commercial Vehicles, Daimler India Commercial Vehicles, Isuzu Motors India, Tata Motors Limited, and Piaggio Vehicles Private Limited.
Neolite ZKW's expansion in Pune marks a significant step towards advancing next-generation automotive lighting solutions. Won Yong Hwang, CEO of ZKW Group GmbH, expressed optimism about continued collaboration in technology and innovation. The company is part of the Austrian-headquartered ZKW Group and supplies automotive lighting products globally.
Comprehensive Product Portfolio
Neolite ZKW offers a wide range of over 830 SKUs (stock keeping units), including headlamps, tail lamps, signalling equipment, and related components. The company serves both the Indian aftermarket segment and export markets. Their next focus is on operationalising their Kancheepuram facility in Tamil Nadu.
The new design centre plays a crucial role in ensuring that Neolite ZKW's solutions meet global performance and regulatory standards. The company's investment in this facility highlights its dedication to enhancing its in-house product development capabilities.
