Nifty Closes At New Record High, Sensex Ends 331 Points Higher
The Indian market benchmark indices closed higher on Thursday, supported by firm global markets. NSE's Nifty 50 ended 0.80 percent higher at a record high of 12,282. BSE's Sensex climbed 331 points to settle at 41,637. Gains were led by stocks in the banking, metal, energy and auto sector.

NSE's metal index rose 2.7 percent with Hind Copper rising 20 percent while SAIL and Nalco gained 10 percent and 6 percent, respectively.
Among Sensex stocks, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) rose 1.6 percent, while UltraTech Cement and Tata Steel jumped 4 percent each.
Small and midcaps continued their recent outperformance. BSE's midcap and smallcap indices rose 1.2 percent and 1.4 percent, respectively.
