Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is set to engage with industrialists, including Kumar Mangalam Birla and Sajjan Jindal, during his two-day visit to Mumbai. The aim is to attract investments for Odisha. The programme, scheduled for Friday and Saturday, will be held in Mumbai, according to Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain.

Majhi's itinerary includes attending the Centres India Chem 2024 on the first day. This event will see participation from stakeholders in the chemical industry. Swain highlighted opportunities for developing chemical industries in Paradip, Gopalpur, and Dhamra. On Saturday, a roadshow will feature leaders from textiles, garments, apparel, and renewable energy sectors.
Investment Opportunities in Odisha
The roadshow marks the second event for the Make in Odisha Conclave, planned for January 28-29 in Bhubaneswar. A similar programme was previously organised in New Delhi. Bank leaders have also been invited to support Odisha's banking sector improvements. Majhi's presence underscores Odisha's strategic focus on expanding its industrial footprint in chemicals and petrochemicals.
The Mumbai event aims to raise awareness among business leaders about investment opportunities in Odisha. It seeks to attract new companies from diverse sectors to explore growth potential within the state. Throughout the day, Majhi will hold high-level meetings with prominent business figures to strengthen partnerships and showcase investment prospects.
Engagement with Industry Leaders
Majhi is scheduled to attend the CEOs Forum during the Mumbai event. This platform facilitates engagement with top leaders from the chemical industry. The state government stated that this initiative highlights Odisha's strategic focus on key sectors like chemicals and petrochemicals.
Business leaders such as Kumar Mangalam Birla, Sajjan Jindal, Manish P Kiri, Vivek Bhatia, Amit Kalyani, and Balkrishan Goenka will participate. Their involvement solidifies Odisha’s growing influence on the national industrial stage. The event is designed to foster engagement among Mumbai's business leaders about investment opportunities in Odisha.
Majhi attended a swearing-in ceremony of the new BJP government in Chandigarh on Thursday before heading to Mumbai for this programme. Officials confirmed his travel plans as part of efforts to enhance Odisha's industrial landscape through strategic engagements and partnerships.
