Pensioners, in order to prove their eligibility to continue receiving the pension, have to submit life certificate or Jeevan Pramaan Patra every year and the deadline for the same is until November 30, 2019. It is a digitally enabled service that is secured with biometrics for pensioners.

And now to ease the hassle around its submission, HDFC Life has allowed video life certificate submission.
Here are the finer details on the whole process of going about such a submission:
In an earlier case for getting the life certificate issued by the concerned authorities, pensioners had to be physically present or visit the pension issuing entity such as the post office or relevant bank.
But if you are an HDFC corporate or retail annuity customer, the process has been simplified for you as the entity now allows life certificate submission in video form or 'Video Life Certificate'.
As per the press release of HDFC Life, "The Video Life Certificate allows the customers to submit their life certificate online, in the form of a video. For this purpose, annuity customers will receive a message along with a link, 90 days before the due date of their life certificate."
And upon clicking the link, you need to record your own video and submit the same with the institution. This shall serve as a life certificate. The process thus does away with the need to physically visit the bank, insurer or doctor.
Once you click this link, you can record a video of yourself and submit the same. This video will serve as a life certificate. This whole process eliminates the need for visiting the banks, medical practitioners or life insurers and is completely online.
"With the launch of the Video Life Certificate, we believe this will make lives easier for our customers. The Video Life Certificate offers them an easy and hassle-free experience. It further simplifies our existing process wherein for the last five years we already accepted life certificates over email. Submitting the Video Life Certificate is convenient and can be done within a matter of a few minutes," said Srinivasan Parthasarathy, Chief Actuary and Appointed Actuary, HDFC Life.
