The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi's eighth instalment will be credited to beneficiaries' bank accounts in April. The government has yet to set a deadline for the funds to be released. According to sources, the next instalment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi may be credited into farmers' bank accounts between April 20 and 25. The beneficiaries get Rs 6000 per year in three four-monthly instalments of Rs 2000 each. Between December and March, the first instalment is deposited, followed by the second instalment between April and July, and the third instalment between August and November.

Small and marginal farmer families with a joint land holding or possession of up to 2 hectares are eligible for the benefit of this scheme. Farmers who are eligible for income support are identified by state governments and UT administrations. The funds are directly deposited into the beneficiaries' bank accounts using the direct benefit transfer (DBT) method. Seven instalments have already been issued by the government. According to Ministry of Agriculture data, the scheme has benefited nearly 11 crore farmers till now.
Minister of State in the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Kailash Choudhary has said that "This scheme has been ongoing and was launched to send the benefits directly to the farmers. He said that there will be no violation of any Model Code of Conduct because of the disbursement of funds under this scheme as this is a government flagship scheme under which the disbursement are being made for quite some time."
