The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released the official RBI Grade B Recruitment 2025 notification for one of the most prestigious jobs in the country. A total of 120 RBI Grade B officer vacancies have been announced across three categories, which include General, DEPR (Department of Economic and Policy Research), and DSIM (Department of Statistics and Information Management).
The online application for RBI Grade B 2025 started yesterday on September 10, and the last date to apply is September 30.

RBI Grade B Recruitment 2025 Vacancy Details
The RBI Grade B exam 2025 is considered for one of the most competitive jobs in the world because only 120 vacancies are available despite lakhs of aspirants applying every year. Out of these, 83 posts are for the General category, 17 posts are reserved for the DEPR (Department of Economic and Policy Research), and 20 posts are for the DSIM (Department of Statistics and Information Management).
RBI Grade B 2025 Eligibility Criteria
If you are planning to apply, here are the basic RBI Grade B eligibility details:
Age limit: 21 to 30 years as of July 1, 2025 (relaxations for MPhil/PhD holders and reserved categories).
Educational qualification
For General Candidates: Graduation with 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD) or post-graduation with 55%. CA-final qualified candidates are also eligible.
For DEPR Candidates: Master's degree in Economics/Finance/Econometrics with at least 55% marks.
For DSIM Candidates: Master's degree in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Mathematical Economics with 55% marks.
RBI Grade B Application Fees
The application process is completely online. Candidates belonging to the General, OBC, and EWS categories need to pay Rs. 850 as their application fee. For candidates belonging to the SC, ST, and PwBD categories, the application fee is much lower at Rs. 100 only.
RBI Grade B 2025 Exam Dates
The RBI Grade B 2025 exam dates have already been announced in the official notification. The Phase I exam will be conducted on October 18 and 19, 2025, followed by the Phase II exam on December 6 and 7, 2025. Candidates who qualify in both these stages will be shortlisted for the personal interview round, which is expected to be held in early 2026 (tentative).
RBI Grade B Selection Process
The RBI Grade B Officer selection process has three stages:
Phase I (Prelims): Objective test with 200 questions on English, quantitative aptitude, reasoning, and general awareness.
Phase II (Mains): Combination of objective and descriptive papers on economics, English writing, finance & management.
Interview: Candidates who clear Phase II will be called for an interview.
RBI Grade B Salary 2025
The RBI Grade B Officer salary is highly attractive, as the basic pay is Rs. 78,450 per month.
Gross salary would be around Rs. 1.5 lakh per month with allowances.
