Reliance Consumer Products Ltd (RCPL), a subsidiary of Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd, has acquired the brands, recipes, and intellectual property rights of Ravalgaon Sugar Farms sugar boiled confectionery business for Rs 27 crore. The deal includes popular brands like Coffee Break, Paan Pasand, Mango Mood, Tutty Fruity, Choco Cream, and Supreme.
In a significant move, Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL), a subsidiary of Reliance Retail Ventures Limited (RRVL), has acquired the popular confectionery brands of Ravalgaon Sugar Farm, including Coffee Break and Paan Pasand, for a consideration of Rs 27 crore.

Sale of Trademarks and Intellectual Property Rights
Ravalgaon Sugar Farm, known for its delectable sugar boiled confectionery products such as Mango Mood, Tutty Fruity, Choco Cream, and Supreme, has sold its trademarks, recipes, and all intellectual property rights associated with its confectionery business to RCPL. This strategic move marks a significant expansion for Reliance Consumer in the FMCG sector.
Challenges Faced by Ravalgaon Sugar
In recent years, Ravalgaon Sugar Farm faced challenges in sustaining its sugar boiled confectionery business due to intense competition from both organized and unorganized players in the industry. The company's market share declined, and profitability was affected by rising raw material, energy, and labor costs. Despite efforts to pass on these increased costs to consumers, the Re 1 price point posed limitations.
Reliance Consumer's FMCG Ambitions
Reliance Consumer Products Limited has ambitious plans to establish itself as a prominent player in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) segment. Earlier this month, RCPL launched its own consumer packaged goods brand called Independence, demonstrating its commitment to expanding its product portfolio. Prior to this acquisition, Reliance had also acquired the iconic home-grown soft drink brand Campa.
The acquisition of Ravalgaon Sugar Farm's confectionery brands by Reliance Consumer Products Limited marks a strategic move for the company to strengthen its presence in the FMCG sector.
