The country's largest lender, State Bank of India (SBI), keeps its customers informed about all forms of banking and KYC scams through a series of tweets. This time, though, the bank has issued a warning and caution about fake customer care numbers. Through a recent Tweet, the bank has warned its customers by saying that "Beware of fraudulent customer care numbers. Please refer to the official website of SBI for correct customer care numbers. Refrain from sharing confidential banking information with anyone."

According to SBI, what customers mostly do is search for SBI customer care number on a search engine and dial the customer care number which is not from the official website of the bank. By dialing an unknown or fake customer care number, the fraudster tries to steal the confidential details of your bank account or debit card. And resulting in the same, the customer falls victim to the phishing attack.
Therefore, SBI says to always visit its official website for getting customer care numbers and beware of fraudulent customer care numbers that could compromise your cyber security. And in order to report such frauds, kindly mail on report.phishing@sbi.co.in or call on Cyber Crime Helpline Number 155260.
SBI has stated on its official website that "Please Call SBI's 24X7 helpline number i.e. 1800 1234 (toll-free), 1800 11 2211 (toll-free), 1800 425 3800 (toll-free) or 080-26599990. Toll-free numbers are accessible from all landlines and mobile phones in the country."
