On Wednesday, the stock market will observe a settlement holiday on the occasion of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti. So will there be a complete stock market holiday tomorrow? The answer is NO. According to the official schedule, the day will be observed just as a settlement holiday, meaning equity trading on the NSE and BSE will continue as usual, but the clearing and settlement of trades will not take place.

What is a settlement holiday & how is it different from a stock market holiday?
A settlement holiday is a day when stock market trading continues, but the T+1 settlement cycle does not operate because banks or depositories are closed.
This means that you can buy and sell shares on February 19. But the final transfer of shares and funds will be delayed until the next working settlement day.
Because settlement determines the final ownership transfer of shares, any holiday in between pushes the credit date forward.
Credits that will NOT reflect on February 19
According to Zerodha, your trading account balance will not include intraday equity profits from February 18 along with F&O and currency derivatives credits.
Commodity derivatives profits will also not be reflected in the account balance. All these unsettled credits can be checked in your fund statement or broker console.
Important trading rules for tomorrow
Investors should be aware of the several market restrictions during the settlement holiday. The currency segment and auction market will remain closed on February 19. Profits generated from equity or derivative trades executed on February 18 and February 19 will become available for withdrawal only by the end of day on February 20. In addition, BTST transactions will not be permitted for MTF and T2T stocks, and shares purchased in these categories on February 18 or February 19 can be sold only on February 20.
While stock market trading remains open on February 19, the settlement process is paused, which may temporarily delay profit visibility and fund withdrawals.
Upcoming Stock Market Holiday Schedule
Any other stock market holidays are not scheduled immediately after tomorrow, which is a partial closure. The next full stock market holiday will be observed on the occasion of Holi, which is on March 3rd, followed by Eid, or Id-ul-Fitr, on March 21st or 20th, depending on the moon.
