In a bid to extend further relief, LPG rules may change in time to come. There could be a case that instead of the regular 14 kg LPG cylinder you can purchase the amount of LPG you require. This will indeed be cost-effective.

Here is what rules for LPG policy are under consideration?
As per sources the government's ministry of petroleum is hastening marketing reforms to facilitate poor of small and rural cities. And in due time, there could be a possibility that you can just buy LPG based on your requirement i.e. meaning to say you will not be forced into buying the full 14 kg cylinder. As per estimates the move will benefit close to 80 million Ujjala beneficiaries.
Mobile LPG Vans To Cater To LPG Demand
There are also news doing the rounds that mobile LPG van will aid the facility and customers will be able to get LPG worth the amount they are willing to pay. Thus, in due course individuals will be able to even purchase LPG for Rs. 100-150.
The move is also to be beneficial as it will then have to spend less on subsidy being given for 12-subsidised LPG cylinders that are allowed in a year.
LPG Rates Are Inching Higher On Rising Crude Rates Globally
In the month of July, prices of LPG cooking gas increased by a tad for the second straight month by Re 1 to Rs 4.5 per cylinder. This is the second consecutive monthly hike in non-subsidised 14.2 kg LPG (liquified petroleum gas) cylinder rates after a sharp reduction in the month of May.
The surge comes on the back of international pricing wherein rates have largely been now trading in a range-bound fashion due to coronavirus concerns that may stoke demand recovery. Crude is trading close to levels of $40 per barrel.
