Leading budget carrier SpiceJet and global investment banking firm Credit Suisse AG have finally inked and settled the pact and consent terms pertaining to pending row between the two parties.

It is important to note that SpiceJet has already given bank guarantee of $5 million soon after Madras High Court order in the case and now there is no advance financial obligation is left with the company, according to the official release of SpiceJet. Meanwhile, the release specified that the settlement includes specific amount payment upfront and remaining amount over a mutually decided target, according to a PTI report.
As per the SpiceJet official release, ""The settlement with Credit Suisse follows SpiceJet's successful settlements and performances therein with De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited (DHC), Boeing, CDB Aviation, BOC Aviation and Avolon and provides an impetus to normalisation, growth and expansion of the airline."
Earlier, Credit Suisse had taken the budget carrier to Madras High Court in 2021 when it failed to make payments worth for the aircraft maintenance, repairs, and remaining services by SR Technics based in Switzerland via an agreement that had a decade long lifetime in 2011, according to a report in BusinessToday.in.
Both SpiceJet and Credit Suisse inked a supplemental agreement in 2021 that permitted them to repay the money raised by SR Technics.
Meanwhile, shares of SpiceJet jumped on BSE with a gain of 4%. Currently, shares of SpiceJet are trading at Rs 50.00 on BSE with a gain of 0.70% at the time of writing this report.
Credit Suisse AG had secured the rights to obtain payments due to SRT in 2012 through financial pact, that permitted the third party to obtain payments from the carrier under 7 invoices that SRT raised. According to reports, SpiceJet did not repay the money due as per the invoices despite several requests, added the BusinessToday.in report.
