NRI Aadhaar card Apply process: The Aadhaar Card is a 12-digit unique identification card that is issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). Aadhaar is an important document as it serves as proof of identity and address for Indian residents.
In order to avail benefits of several government-sponsored schemes and other essential services also the Indian government has been continuously pushing people to get their Aadhaar Cards. Aadhaar is also required while filing your income tax return and get a tax refund.

When it comes to Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), there is confusion about whether NRIs are also eligible to apply for and obtain an Aadhaar. The answer is yes. Non-Resident Indians can apply for and obtain their Aadhaar. The Aadhaar enrollment process for NRIs is the same as that for Indian residents, and it involves furnishing biometric and demographic information.
The Aadhaar card is based on biometric and demographic data collected during the Aadhaar enrollment process, which includes fingerprints, iris scans, and a photograph.
In this article, we will discuss how NRIs can apply for Aadhaar of their children and obtain an Aadhaar number for them.
An NRI (irrespective of age) with a valid Indian passport is eligible to apply for Aadhaar from any Aadhaar Kendra. If you are an NRI and applying for Aadhaar, remember that the UIDAI doesn't accept international or non-Indian mobile numbers. Thus, make sure to provide an Indian phone number during the application process.
