About Subedaar Movie

The movie plot revolves around the life of Arjun Maurya, played by Anil Kapoor. The protagonist was once a decorated soldier who risked his life to save the country. However, the post-retirement challenges never felt less for Maurya, who found it difficult to settle among civilians by leaving behind his discipline.

While he somehow managed to settle and began enjoying his retirement life, the growing influence of mafias in the city became an inevitable problem.

The antagonist, Prince, who is a ruthless leader of an illegal sand-mining empirem begins to increase his influence in the region. Prince, played by Aditya Rawal, continues to expand his illegal sand-mining business in teh region and the corruption in the system begins to impact Arjun's life. As his family comes under threat, the retired Army personnel once again returns to action to confront his past instincts and save his family.

Anil Kapoor, in an Interview with Indian Express, said that the latest role takes him back to action cinema and draws on personal bonds, as the character explores a father-daughter relationship shaped by real-life experiences.

Director Suresh Triveni leads the project, extending Triveni's work with Amazon Prime Video after Jalsa and the series Daldal, while the screenplay comes from a joint effort by Triveni and Prajwal Chandrashekar.

The film is backed by Abundantia Entertainment, Opening Image Films, and Anil Kapoor Film & Communication Network, bringing together established production banners for the new release. It premiered on Amazon Prime Video on 5 March 2026, positioning the film directly for streaming audiences in India and overseas.
