The Rajasthan government is making significant policy changes to ensure the state not only meets its energy needs but also becomes a surplus provider of clean energy. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma emphasised these efforts during the Rising Rajasthan Investment Summit. He stated that the government is committed to fulfilling the energy demands of its 8-crore population while aiming to supply clean energy beyond its borders.

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi announced that the central government has sanctioned a new solar park in Rajasthan with a capacity of 2,000 MW. The centre will cover 30% of the costs for this project. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance the state's renewable energy capabilities.
Renewable Energy Initiatives
Rajasthan's Energy Minister, Heera Lal Nagar, highlighted the state's progress in renewable energy. "The state government is taking all steps to meet the energy needs of the present as well as future generations," he said. The state has achieved remarkable growth in new and renewable energy sectors, setting new benchmarks.
Alok, Additional Chief Secretary of the Energy Department, shared insights on the Integrated Clean Energy Policy. This policy aims to boost renewable energy capacity to 125 GW by 2030, creating approximately 10 lakh jobs in the sector. He mentioned that innovations like energy storage and green hydrogen will aid in this transition.
Future Prospects
The state's ambitious goal to generate 125 GW of renewable energy by 2030 positions it as a leader in India's green energy movement. Alok noted that advancements such as grid modernisation and green ammonia are crucial for achieving sustainable energy goals.
Rajasthan's commitment to clean energy reflects its dedication to both current and future generations. By focusing on renewable sources, the state aims to contribute significantly to India's overall green energy objectives.
The initiatives discussed at the summit underscore Rajasthan's proactive approach towards becoming an energy-surplus state. With support from both state and central governments, these projects are expected to drive substantial economic and environmental benefits.
