Shares of Tata Communications Ltd., a Tata Group Company, on Wednesday hit 52-week high after the company announced the launch of its global cloud-based 5G Roaming Laboratory. The shares gained 2.14%, ended at Rs 1820 apiece on BSE after it hit 52-week high.
The lab will empower Mobile Network Operators (MONs) by providing a platform to conduct Proof of Concepts (POCs) before rolling out 5G services to their customers.

Tata Communications' cloud-based 5G Roaming Lab tests the international mobile roaming experience by closely monitoring traffic movement and network usage to provide mobile phone users with the best possible experience while travelling. Its tests receive an objective performance rating across networks that are linked in the exchange procedure while a user is travelling. This also includes onboarding and internet trials on the 5G standalone network's high-speed, high-reliability, and low-latency.
Mysore Madhusudhan, Executive Vice President, Collaboration and Connected Solutions, Tata Communications, said, "Connectivity is a key ingredient in today's fast-paced digital world. An internet that is fast, secure and available at all times is of paramount importance to customers, whether they are individuals or an enterprise. We are excited to introduce our newest capability in 5G roaming testing ensuring MNO customers are receiving proven services."
He added, "By ensuring that the tests can take place across geographies, enhances the flexibility available to MNOs for delivering superior and agile services. Armed with fast and uninterrupted connectivity, this generation will accelerate a lot faster than its predecessors!"
Tata Communications is a global leader in Mobile Roaming Services, with proven track record of carrying 2G/ 3G/ 4G roaming signalling services in 200+ countries. Its worldwide relationship with 700+ MNOs gives it a natural edge to provide 5G roaming services.
