TCS Hiring 2025: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) registered a total headcount of 607,354 employees in the third quarter of FY25. This is lower from the workforce of 612,724 crore in previous quarter. With that a total of 5,370 employees have exited TCS. However, TCS carried massive promotions programme in the quarter under review.
The company's Chief HR Officer Milind Lakkad has revealed that TCS promoted to about 25,000 associates in the October to December 2024 quarterly period, which brings the total number of promotions to over 110,000 employees in nine months of FY25.

As per December 31, 2024, TCS' workforce stood at 607,354 as on December 31st. The employee base is very diverse, with 35.3% women and with 152 nationalities.
This led to attrition of 13% in the company's IT services. Notably, TCS attrition has remained at 13% for the last 12 months.
In the September 2024 quarter, TCS had workforce of 612,724 employees. However, in Q3FY25, TCS headcount is higher compared to workforce of 603,305 employees in the December 2023 quarter.
In its filing, Milind Lakkad, Chief HR Officer, said: "We promoted over 25,000 associates this quarter which brought the total promotions this financial year to more than 110,000. We continue to invest in employee upskilling and overall well-being. Our campus hiring for the year is going according to plan and preparations are afoot to onboard a higher number of campus hires next year".
In Q3FY25, the employees cost was at Rs 35,956 crore.
TCS surpassed estimates in terms of profitability during Q3FY25. The country's largest IT company reported consolidated net profit of Rs 12,380 crore in the third quarter ending period December 31, 2024. The profit was attributable to owners of the company. The PAT was up by 11.95% YoY and 3.95% QoQ.
Meanwhile, consolidated revenue from operations stood at Rs 63,973 crore in Q3FY25, higher from Rs 60,583 crore in Q3FY24, but marginally down from Rs 64,259 crore in Q2FY25. The company posted 4.5% YoY revenue growth in constant currency.
