Integrated power company Tata Power will establish 20 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations for the public in the textile city of Coimbatore.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Virendra Goyal, company's head of business development for EV charging, said, "We are pleased to partner with Coimbatore Municipal Corporation, which is the second largest corporation in Tamil Nadu, to provide optimal EV charging solutions to all EV users in the city and nearby areas."

"Through our association with municipal bodies, we strive to make EV adoption in India feasible while making the EV charging stations easily accessible to users," he added.
Tata Power has already installed 116 EV charging stations in Tamil Nadu and an additional 20 will be installed as part of this project. The four-wheeler charging stations would offer a 24/7 service to EV owners in Coimbatore.
Coimbatore Municipal Commissioner M. Prathap said, "Our aim is to accelerate the adoption of EV vehicles in the State and collaboration with Tata Power will provide a seamless charging experience to EV users in Coimbatore."
The smartphone application 'Tata Power EZ Charge', which includes charging station locator, remote car charging monitoring and e-payments, will provide access to all the charging stations installed by the company.
