Brand Finance India 100 2021 is the annual report on the most valuable and strongest brands in the country. According to the report, Tata Group leads the chart and has even overcome the coronavirus fall-out aggressively with brand value registering an increase duing the last year. Here are the other top brands of India by ranking:
1. Tata Group:
Tata Group with business across verticals from tobacco to hotel tops the chart, commanding a brand value of US$ 21,283 million. The company's presence spans across 100 nations, covering 6 continents and employs a wide base of population. Over the preceding year, the company's brand value has increased by 6%, implying that the company's businesses managed to defy the Covid 19 blues.
2. LIC:
The IPO bound largest public insurer also recorded a jump in its brand value from $8106 million in 2020 to $8655 million in 2021. The insurance company has managed to retain its last year position.
3. Infosys:
The Bengaluru based IT services firm has improved on brand ranking and moved higher from 4th spot to now 3rd spot in 2021. The company's brand value as of 2021 is $8402 million. The company has registered a solid 19% growth in its brand value over the previous year
4. Reliance:
The conglomerate company led by Mukesh Ambani has dropped in ranking from 3rd spot last year to now being at the 4th position in the Brand Finance 100 2021 report. The company's brand value as in 2021 has been at $8138 million.
5. HDFC Bank:
This private sector lending entity has also moved one notch higher in rank from the 6th spot to being currently at 5th.Brand value of the lender has surged 11 percent to $6588 million.

Despite the lockdown in March 2020 owing to the first wave of the pandemic, Indian brands have shown resilience and recorded increase in brand value. Over the last year, the overall brand value of India's top 100 brands gained by 2 percent.
Other than measuring the brand value, Brand Finance also determines the relative strength of brands taking help of a balanced scorecard of metrics analyzing marketing investment, stakeholder, and business performance. Accordingly, basis these parameters, Jio has bagged the title of the country's strongest brand in addition to world's strongest telecom brand as per the Brand Finance Telecoms 150 2021 report, with a Brand Strength Index score of 91.7 out of 100 and the elite AAA+ brand strength rating.
